Our history

Once upon a time...

Spirit & Life Church was founded in October 2012 following a conviction that God placed in our hearts. In the beginning, we were just four people gathering in an apartment, and the Lord expanded this vision, leading us ever further with Him.

VALENCE

2012-2013

4-10 people

This is where the story began—in this dance studio on the eastern outskirts of Valence, which we could use only on Sundays. When we first arrived, there were just four of us, and the space felt really, really big! :)

2013-2015

10-15 people

Finally, a small space of our own for the entire week! This is where we were able to start cultural activities to reach out to the community and hold our Sunday morning gatherings.

MALISSARD

2015-2018

15-20 people

Feeling the need for more space, especially for weekday activities, we moved into this former 70m² training room.

Since that day, we have already moved three times as our community has grown. From the very beginning, God placed in our hearts the desire to settle in the eastern outskirts of the Valence area. He miraculously opened doors for us each time, leading us in 2018 to Montélier, where we moved into the former premises of Paul & Séphora, an online store selling Bibles, films, music, and Christian books.

After extensive renovations and the contribution of many, we were able to transform this storage space into a warm and welcoming place.

a bit of decoration!!

Since our arrival in Montélier where we were 20 people in 2018, we are now around 200. The size of the premises have become too small this past year, so we have set up two celebrations on Sunday, one at 9:00 a.m. and the other at 11:00 a.m. After two years of active research, we found a perfect location for our current and future needs located in Bourg-de-Péage, which we will normally move into by the end of 2025.
